Ratio FAQ
What is a follower ratio on TikTok?+
It is your follower count divided by the number of accounts you follow. A ratio of 3:1 means three followers for every account you follow. TikTok does not publish or rank this number; it is a rough signal people use to read a profile at a glance.
What counts as a good ratio?+
There is no official target. Above about 2:1 a profile reads as a creator whose audience found them. Near 1:1 reads as balanced. Below about 0.5:1 the profile reads as follow-for-follow, which is the pattern most people want to clean up.
Does the ratio affect my reach?+
TikTok has never said the ratio is a ranking factor, and treating it as one is speculation. What it does affect is how a human reads your profile, and how much of your feed comes from accounts that never engage with you.
How do I improve it?+
Stop following accounts that do not follow back, and keep the ones you actually watch. A free scan lists exactly who falls into which group, so you can decide rather than guess.
